Q. Do you send costumes out of town?

A. Yes, we courier costumes New Zealand wide. Different rates will apply depending on destination, size and weight of costume. You just need to book your costume through our website and once your order/booking is received, we will confirm availably within 24hrs, or reply to any questions that you may have. The courier charge will also be shown to you before you purchase or hire. If you are hiring you are required to return the costume by courier, the first business day after your event.  Courier generally takes 1-2 days, but please allow longer than this so you are not disappointed if the costume does not arrive in time.  No responsibllity can be taken if the courier does not deliver in time, as they can not guarantee time frames.

 Q. What type of payment do you accept?

A. Via our website we accept Visa/ Mastercard, Paypal and Polipay.  In store we except Visa/Mastercard, eftpos and cash.  Cheques are not accepted under any condtions.  All hire costumes have a bond and this will be refunded in the same manner it is paid.

Q. What if the costume doesn’t fit?

A. Unfortunately, if you order the incorrect size, you will still be charged - so check the measurements to be certain or order another costume in a larger size if still not sure. We have sized our costumes for hire according to NZ sizing and they have hired to people that fit this size on a frequent basis, most of our costumes are made to be fitting not loose. If you purchase a certain size in most of your clothing then our costumes should fit, but if you swing a little between sizes, we recommend you go up a size, and due to the stretch in them, they will still look great.  If purchasing retail costumes, the sizing has been provided by the manufacturer, so is as correct as we can get it. We list sizes for retail costumes under description on each costume.

Q. If I hire, do I wash the costume and wig?

A. No, we do this ourselves. Every item is either washed, sterisled or dry cleaning.  If a costume is not washed correctly it can be damaged and therefore you are liable for the cost of this damage. It’s very important not  do not wipe your boots or shoes at all, as it removes the patent from them.

Q. How much is the bond?
A. The bond depends on the costume.  The minimum bond is $30, with $40 being the charge on most costumes. Santas and mascots have an $80 bond.

Q. How long do I have the costume for?
A. If you are in Christchurch we allow pickup from 1pm Thursday with latest return Monday. During the week it is a 3 day hire, if you are getting your costume couriered we allow an extra day to get the costume to you and back from you.  However, if you forget to courier it back straight away additional charges will apply.  All costumes must be tracked, for insurance reasons and confirmation of item sent. Longer periods of hire are generally 1/5 of the weekly hire per day, or by prior arrangement.

Q. Can I come and try the costumes on?
A. If you are in Christhchurch you are more than welcome to view/try on the costumes. We are located in a stylish black house at 270A Cranford St, St Albans, please check our website for opening hours.  We look forward to seeing you.

Q. Do you hire out shoes and boots?
A. Yes we have a very large variety of women’s and men’s boots and shoes available for hire in a variety of colours.  For the women this range includes, Gogo Boots, lovechild boots, stiletto boots, thigh high boots, steampunk shoes, and black platform shoes.  For the men who like to be Groovy we have, cowboy boots, roman sandals, pirate boots and groovy black and white platforms.
