Terms & Conditions for Hiring

 

By making payment to hire from Groovy Costumes, you certify that you have read and understood the TERMS & CONDTIONS OF HIRE of Groovy Costumes and authorize the use of my personal information as detailed in the Privacy Act clause therein.

1/ We do all the cleaning !!!  Please do not attempt to wash the costume yourself.   Every costume is thoroughly washed or Dry Cleaned after each hire so our stock stays fresh and in good condition. Under no circumstances are you to clean the boots as this can damage the paint on them.

2/ A bond will be charged on each costume, additional to the cost of hire. The bond will be refunded in part or in full, depending on the condition and date of the returned costume.  You are not to alter the costume in any way, and are required to return them in the condition they were hired by the agreed date. Loss of, or damage to costumes, wigs and accessories will be charged at the repair or placement cost.  If the costume(s) or boots is/are excessively soiled there will be additional cleaning charges.  If costumes are not received by Owner's premises by the due date, additional hire days are charged at $10.00 per day or your weekly hire charge, (whichever the lesser amount).  I understand that the bond paid is only a ‘Good Will Gesture’ and it does not cover the value of the costume. Funds may be taken from bond accordingly or invoiced if there is an additional cost. If an invoice is sent, payment must be paid within 7 days.

3/ Please check the sizing chart carefully, as no refunds will be given for garments that do not fit. If you are unsure it’s always best to go up a size.  No refunds will be given for costumes not worn. 

4/ You are welcome to book your costume ahead of the required date, however, if booking on line, payment will be required to be made in full. If you cancel or change your costume prior to it having been picked up or couriered you will forfeit a $15 administration fee. If you reserve your costume in store a $15 non refundable deposit is to be paid.

5/ Once the costume has left the store, either picked up or by courier it is deemed to be hired. No refunds or exchanges will be made on hires after this time, subject to the rights conferred under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. Refunds will also not be made if costume is sent to an incorrect address provided by yourself.

6/ All hires in store require photo Identification such as New Zealand drivers licence.

7/ In the event that the costume is not returned, you will be charged up to two weeks additional hire and the full purchase price of the replacement costume plus any collection fees that may occur.

8/ If a Groovy Costume garment bag is supplied, damage to or loss of this bag will be charged at a cost of $5 per bag. 

9/ All costs incurred by Groovy Costumes ltd, in the recovery of any debts will be charged to the customer in addition to the original debt.

10/ In the unlikely event that there is a problem with the costume delivered (wrong item, missing item, damaged etc.) please let us know immediately, before the costume is worn. 

Please remember, that the costumes belong to us, some of them are very expensive and we expect you to take good care of them while you have them on hire.
